DAETECH was started in November 2005 by Larry and Donabel Hughes. In the summer of 2004 we went to a free dinner and seminar and were given no clue to what the seminar was about. We were introduced to radiant barrier and told it would lower our utility bill significantly. After some consideration, we had the product installed and were very impressed with our savings. We then began researching for other energy saving techniques and continue to do so, We believe by sharing what we have learned with others that they can benefit and make their home or business more energy efficient and together we can make a big difference in energy conservation as a whole and keep a lot more of our hard earned dollars in our pockets, instead of lining the pockets of the utility companies.
There is a lot of confusion in the market about what are cost effective improvements to make on your home. This website is dedicated to providing information about energy use and conservation in the home. We're not selling anything here, just trying to provide good information to help you better understand about Building Science and your home.

Energy Efficiency is easy and possible
- Modifying your habits on how you use energy will quickly and inexpensively yield immediate results in lower energy usage and the cost you pay for that energy. Always start at this point in your plan to reduce your energy consumption.
